What is Hocoka

Hocoka is more than a name. It represents the intention behind everything created within this space.

The word Hocoka comes from the Lakota tradition and refers to the sacred centre, the space within the circle.

Traditionally, the circle represented community, connection and belonging, while the space at its centre held deep significance. It was a place of gathering, ceremony, prayer and connection to something greater than oneself.

That meaning is what drew me to the name.

To me, Hocoka represents a return to centre.

Life has a way of pulling us in many different directions. We carry responsibilities, relationships, expectations, emotions and experiences. We become busy doing, giving, coping and moving forward, and somewhere amongst all of that, we can lose our connection to ourselves.

Hocoka was created as a space to step outside of that noise for a while.

A space to become still.

To breathe.

To release what feels heavy.

To reconnect with your energy and listen to what may be asking for your attention.

There is something beautiful about the symbolism of a circle. There is no hierarchy within it. No beginning and no end. It represents connection, wholeness and the cycles of release, healing, growth and renewal that we move through throughout our lives.

And at the centre of that circle is Hocoka.

For me, that centre represents the place within each of us that remains beneath all the noise. The part of ourselves we sometimes lose touch with, but never truly lose.

That is the heart of what I want Hocoka to be.

Not simply somewhere you come for a healing session, but a space where you feel safe enough to soften, quiet enough to listen and supported enough to reconnect with yourself.

You don't need to arrive with answers.

You don't need to understand energy healing.

You don't even need to know exactly what you need.

You simply arrive as you are.

Hocoka is the sacred space within the circle.

A place to release. A place to reconnect. A place to return to your centre.

Come back to you.

Healing Happens in circles

Healing is rarely a straight line. We move through layers, returning to old places with new awareness, deeper understanding and different eyes.

The circle reminds us that returning does not mean going backwards. Each time we come around, we meet ourselves from a new place.

At Hocoka, the circle represents wholeness, connection and the sacred space we create for healing.

Sometimes healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about returning to who you have always been.

Come back to you.
